Graphic Designer & Illustrator
Graphic designer & Illustrator. Kate Greenaway nominee 2014.
A graphic designer and illustrator with several years experience, I've worked for print & web design agencies, authors, newspaper and magazine publishers. My work has included book illustration and design, CD design, branding, magazine layout, web template design, info-graphics, marketing and promotional design.
Clients have included: Universal, Verve, John Brown Publishing, The Guardian, Little Notes, Inner City 100, Breast Cancer Awareness, Horsham Symphony Orchestra, Butcher & Gundersen and various authors.
I've illustrated two books for children, the first of which, 'Is Daddy Coming Back in a Minute?' was nominated for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal 2014. Most recently I've designed and illustrated 'FLOW': A B2B publication for 'Change-Makers, Mavericks, Innovation Activists and Leaders.'
I work in Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign to create digital designs that often incorporate my photography, watercolour and drawing skills.
I love working directly with clients. Communication and collaboration are key to successful working partnerships and I get a kick out of finding the creative design solution which makes everyone happy.
I'm always up for new challenges so please do get in touch!
Graphic Design / Illustration
Haydn Shaughnessey & Fin Goulding
I designed and illustrated ‘FLOW’: A 200 page handbook about creating Agile work environments, for self-publishing duo; consultant Haydn Shaughnessey and Aviva CIO Fin Goulding.
I’m currently working on a series of info-graphics for Haydn.
Graphic design / Branding
Horsham Symphony Orchestra
I created and developed a new identity for this orchestra from concept through to production. I’ve produced a series of posters and programmes to advertise upcoming performances and am currently working towards redesigning their website.
Butcher & Gunderson
I illustrated two new babies for this design agency’s child skin care brand client to grow their baby care product range.
Elke & Alex Barber
I Illustrated two books for this self-publishing mother & son team. My role included helping to edit the original stories to turn them into 32 page children’s books, coming up with concepts for all the illustrations, creating them in context and designing page layouts and producing hi-res illustrations using pencil, watercolour and photoshop. It was challenging and rewarding work.
Graphic design / Branding / Illustration
These clients wanted to create a new brand for their burgeoning pre-school music franchise. Working closely with them, I developed a simple logo and brand id to reflect their nurturing identity. I used illustration and typography to create the logo and brand concept which was used across various print materials. The brand proved successful and has had a positive financial impact for the business.

Worked mainly on CD designs for various clients including Universal Music, Spectrum, Verve Recordings, Blue Note Records. Also did promotional pieces for this company and various clients including Breast Cancer Awareness. Point of sale for book publishers Piatkus Books and Simon & Schuster and brand design for Spectrum Music.
Junior Graphic Designer
Zest Magazine & Cosmopolitan Magazine: NatMags
Junior dogsbody for these two titles. First experience of magazine design. Highlight… getting mistaken for a bag lady but getting lost in a posh restaurant trying to take items to a photo shoot in some cool Soho flats. Did some page layout, tiny amount of illustration, lots of scanning and a massive amount of tea making.
Junior Graphic Designer
The Guardian – Development. Floor 5
I worked on various publications in the Development section of the Guardian when the newspaper group was based in Farringdon. It was a fantastic introduction to design and I learnt more in the six months I was there than the previous three years of my degree. Work included helping design small one off supplements to go into the weekend papers, picture editing, photo manipulation, illustration and layout design. Low point… a lot of scanning!
Freelance Graphic Designer
